About Sehaj

A quieter way to stay close to Sikh stories

Sehaj exists to make returning to Sikhi feel possible in an ordinary day: one meaningful Saakhi, a few quiet minutes, and space to reflect on what stays with you.

Why it began

Built for the space between wanting to learn and knowing where to begin

Sikh history carries stories of courage, humility, service, and steady faith. Yet making time for them can be difficult, especially when language, distance, or a busy routine gets in the way.

Sehaj turns that first step into a simple daily rhythm. It is a companion to learning through stories, audio, and private reflection, designed to sit alongside family learning, sangat, and guidance from trusted Sikh teachers and institutions.

The people behind Sehaj

Founded by Jot, made with a small team

Jot started Sehaj to create the kind of calm, approachable return to Sikh stories he wanted to make part of everyday life. A small team works across the stories, product, design, and technology that bring that idea to life.

How stories are made

Careful research, shaped for everyday reading

Our process combines research, thoughtful preparation, and human judgement.

  1. 01

    Choose a meaningful story

We begin with a Saakhi that offers something worth understanding and carrying into daily life.

  2. 02

    Research the people and events

We use Sikh sources to understand the story, its setting, and the people it remembers.

  3. 03

Prepare it for reading and listening

We shape a clear English retelling, add Punjabi for selected stories, and prepare narration for a calm listening experience.

  4. 04

    Review before publishing

A person reviews the story before it is published. If you spot something that needs another look, you can send us a correction below.

Help us get it right

Questions and corrections are welcome

If something in a story needs another look, tell us what you noticed and, when possible, include the source you would like us to review.
